Abstract

Catalytic asymmetric synthesis of cyanohydrins using CACHy™ catalysts, made of oxo-titanium or vanadium coordinated with salen ligands, provides products such as alpha-hydroxy acids and beta-amino alcohols efficiently and with high optical purity. Several processes have been developed and shown to be scaleable, economic and robust.
