Abstract

The developments and current perspectives of reinforced soil structures and slopes in Europe were described. Recent advances in manufacturing technology have resulted in improved geogrid reinforcing products. A new Dutch geogrid is formed from black reinforcing straps orientated in the machine direction and two transparent weft straps. The Hong Kong Geotechnical Engineering Office has developed a new Design Guidance Document for Reinforced Fill Structures and Slopes.
