Abstract

The Systems under study are broadband wireless fixed access (BFWA) systems over multipath fading channels. Conventional detection methods like coherent and non-coherent detection are examined theoretically for both QPSK and 16-QAM modulated BFWA systems in this paper and shown to yield unsatisfactory performance. The theoretical analysis for different algorithms are validated by Monte-Carlo simulations and proved to be accurate. They give us an insight into the physical limitations of the BFWA channels and suggest solutions to improve the rapacity and performance of future BFWA systems. © 2005 IEEE.
