This paper presents the application of the wavelet transform in electric drives schemes. Wavelets can significantly improve the behavior of a Kalman filter used for speed estimation. Furthermore an adaptive multiresolution wavelet analysis method is proposed for current denoising especially targeted for electric drives applications that have a V/f structure. This adaptive method compensates for the delay problem that every wavelet based denoising scheme imposes. © 2006 IEEE.
