Abstract

Static Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) were successfully applied for “storage, generalise and recall” of experimentally derived data in marine design and coefficient prediction applications. Dynamic and on-line ANNs were also successfully applied to identify, model and finally control a wide range of marine systems, a high speed trimaran vessel and medium to high-speed marine diesel engines.
