Gastric tonometry and intravesical pressure measurement performed on eight babies born with gastroschisis for hours after abdominal closure. Intravesical pressure was not high. The gastric mucosal and gastric pCO(2) mucusal pH remained stable and closely matched arterial values. Tonometry may be a useful technique to monitor these babies.
