A soil erosion-productivity model which considers the effect of soil water storage capacity, crop evapotranspiration, and soil chemical and physical properties important for crop growth has been developed. The model is shown to give good predictions and it promises to be an improvement over the Productivity Index (PI) model. It also promises to give more reliable results than the currently used models which consider only soil water storage capacity and crop evapotranspiration.
