Experimental Assessment of GM for a Ship without Reference to Hydrostatic Data

The evaluation of GM is most common and useful method in considering the safety of a ship. Some ships, especially of small sizes, are lack of the hydrostatic information, and are very hard to get the GM throughout the ordinary procedure like inclination test. But, majority of marine casualties are concentrated on such small ships under 24 meter of their length. In this paper, some experiments to get the GM without any hydrostatic data are carried out, and the usefulness of the method is discussed.
