Abstract

Child language development and disorder in Iran has been in focus for research by different professions, the most important ones among them are psychologists and speech therapists. The following review summarises Iranian studies on child language development and disorder in pre-school years and aims to find the most studied topics, systematically, in the field of normal development, assessment, and diagnosis of language impairments as well as exploring the current gaps within the body of literature. Consequently, the researchers would be aware of what could be the next steps towards providing better research plans in this field. This review classifies Iranian studies according to the hierarchy of evidence and weighs them against the criteria of critical appraisals of different types of studies.
