© 2016 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved. A 26-year-old healthy adult man developed painless visual blurring affecting his left eye that was associated with subjective color desaturation. He experienced rapid visual deterioration, and when seen 1 week later by his local optometrist, his visual acuities were recorded at 20/20 in his right eye and 20/200 in his left eye. Fundoscopic examination was thought to be normal, and he was referred for a neurological opinion for suspected optic neuritis. Three weeks later, he developed similar visual symptoms in his right eye, and he was seen on an urgent basis.
