Abstract

This short intervention draws on Jane Bennett’s work to reflect on the implications of thatwork for deep-sea mining regulation. The intervention is written in a creative style, fromthe perspective of a manganese nodule. Manganese nodules are balls of minerals found onthe deep seabed and are to be the main target of deep-sea mining, if it is legally author-ized. Debates on the authorization of deep-sea mining remain ongoing at the InternationalSeabed Authority.
