Abstract

© 2026 Elsevier Inc.Cancer has revealed that the mitochondrion is not a static organelle but a system of extraordinary plasticity. Here, we introduce fundamental mitochondrial behaviors that have been illuminated by cancer research and propose that further investigation in mitochondrial biology holds promise for oncology and beyond.
