Abstract

Objectives: A retrospective review of patients with advanced laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) was conducted to evaluate the impact of Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) and occupation class, as markers of socioeconomic deprivation, on treatment outcomes. Methods: We utilised multicentre data from Northern England. Patients were included if they were discussed at multidisciplinary meetings with initial curative intent. Demographic variables included: residential postcode, age, sex, smoking history, and occupation. Oncological outcomes included: recurrence, overall mortality, and disease-specific mortality.
