Abstract

This substantive and accessible introduction isd not only a useful ssummary of gender and class perspectives on the history opf British and irish psychiatry aimed at specialists in the field, but is also particularly useful for student readers (and to those new to this academic field). It signposts the ways in which this collection challenges, adjusts and extends previous perspectives, and suggests sets a number of agendas for future research.
