This article appeared in the reviewed annual series 2002 of the German Society of Political Science. It questions the national concept of political space and asks for appropriate approaches and concept to study transnational politics. Transnational Politics is hereby perceived as de-territorialised. It reflects upon the discussion of a paradigm shift in International Relations from the concept of nation state to network analysis.
