This paper discusses the application of a new framework for business process research and analysis in the context of the capital goods industry. It argues that the key business processes in relation to technological change are inter-organizational ones, and the impacts of new technology can only be fully understood through a consideration of the complete system within which the capital goods producer operates. This is illustrated in terms of the key business process interactions involving producers of complex capital goods.
