Abstract

The interactions of four initial superfluid vortex rings were studied theoretically in the absence of dissipation or friction. A cascade of Kelvin waves was observed. These waves were generated by individual vortex reconnection events which transfers energy to higher wave numbers k. The energy spectrum scales and the curvature spectrum occured after vortex reconnections.
