The Newcastle University research output collection, currently available on ePrints, will shortly be moving to a new open repository platform, Figshare. To prepare for the data migration we have paused adding new content to ePrints, and will resume once the new repository is launched. During this time you will continue to have access to ePrints (but no new content will appear). We will share updates here when available.

Abstract

The pathophysiological changes that occur after brain death lead to a progressive deterioration in organ function. The limited number of organs available for transplantation has increased interest in the use of marginal donors and highlighted the importance of appropriate donor management, particularly hemodynamic resuscitation. Although the use of vasopressin has an obvious role in the management of diabetes insipidus, its vasoactive properties are also of benefit in the management of the multiorgan donor. © 2007 Elsevier Inc.
