Abstract

Case studies of spoken word comprehension of three boys with specific language impairment are presented. The children were assessed with standardized assessments and experimental tasks that examined their language processing skills. The three children performed similarly on standardized assessments. However, the experimental tasks identified different underlying processes responsible for each child’s language profile. The implications for assessment and intervention are discussed.
